Life is often likened to a marathon, requiring perseverance, strategy, and resilience. Reflecting on this idea takes me back to my days of athletics, particularly in middle- and long-distance running. Among the various events, one that stands out as a true test of an athlete’s mettle is the decathlon.

In athletics, the decathlon is a demanding combined event comprising ten disciplines spread across two days. It challenges competitors on multiple fronts — strength, endurance, speed, agility, and skill. Success in the decathlon isn’t just about excelling in one area but achieving consistent performance across all events. Athletes earn points based on their performance in each discipline, and the one with the highest total points is crowned the winner.

Much like preparing for a decathlon, life presents us with a series of interconnected challenges, requiring us to adapt, endure, and balance multiple facets of our journey to thrive.
