“What is important now is to recover what has been lost, and to keep it from being lost again.” — Jimmy Carter

Whenever there is a question of prioritization, I am reminded of the incident of the spacecraft proceeding to the moon. At a certain moment when few of the controls were lost, astronauts sought the advice of scientists on earth. One of the eminent scientists replied as follows,

“It is not important what you have lost, it is now important what you have now and go ahead”

That was all. The mission was accomplished. He could have told, “Come back my friends!” But powerful words made them succeed. These powerful words may work for your mission hand at present.

What Important Now

You may be supercharged by reading the book Winning Every Day by the famous college football coach Lou Holtz. Coach Holtz used to remind his players at Notre Dame to ask themselves this important question throughout the day; when they awakened in the morning, in class or study hall, in the weight room, on the practice field, on the side-lines during a game (regardless of their role on the team), when they were on the field during a game when they were at a party outside school hours and when they were approached by some alumni or agent who was offering them a financial incentive that may jeopardize their collegiate careers. You might have lot many hurdles but what you think now or ‘What is Important Now.’

You can never underestimate the personality of Michael Phelps, an American swimmer, the most-decorated athlete in Olympic history with 28 medals, which included a record 23 gold. At the 2008 Games in Beijing, he became the first athlete to win eight gold medals in a single Olympics. But you may be surprised when he was striving for eighth gold. His leg was injured when there was time for the eighth gold event. Coach told him to quit but he emphasized “What’s Important Now” and did specific exercises for making his hands stronger and won the eighth gold.

Hurdles And Obstacles Make You Stronger.

Overcoming challenges and difficulties can help build resilience, determination, and strength of character. When faced with adversity, one must use their resources, skills, and determination to overcome the obstacle and come out stronger on the other side.

Going through hardships can also help you develop a growth mindset, where you view challenges as opportunities for growth and improvement. By facing obstacles and overcoming them, you can develop a sense of confidence in your ability to handle difficult situations and be more resilient in the future.

Overcoming obstacles can also help you develop a better sense of perspective and appreciation for the things that you have in your life. When you’ve faced difficulties and come out on the other side, it can make you appreciate your successes and blessings even more.

While obstacles and hurdles can be challenging, they can also be an opportunity for growth, development, and strength. By embracing challenges and viewing them as opportunities for growth, you can become stronger and more resilient as a person.

I understand that you are working towards a specific goal and may be feeling overwhelmed by the number of responsibilities and tasks that come with it. It’s great to have aspirations and drive, but it’s also important to focus on the present moment and take things one step at a time.

When we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it can be easy to lose sight of what we need to do today. This is why it’s crucial to prioritize and focus on what needs to be done in the present moment. This doesn’t mean you should abandon your long-term goals, but taking care of what you need to do today can help you build momentum and feel more in control of your life.

Make a to-do list of the most important tasks that need to be completed today. This will help you stay organized and on track. It’s also important to prioritize self-care and make time for rest. This can help prevent burnout and keep you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the challenges of the day.

Remember, progress is made step by step, and taking care of what needs to be done today is an important step in reaching your long-term goals. Trust in your abilities and don’t be too hard on yourself. You’ve got this!

Resources Versus Resourcefulness

It’s not your resources but your resourcefulness that is working for your goal. In other words, I can say that your ability to find creative solutions and make the best use of what is available to you is more important than the number of resources you have at your disposal.

It’s not the number of resources you have, but the quality of your resourcefulness that will determine your success in achieving your goals.

For example, you have written a few words as your content for today that might be able to turn a small piece of content into a successful output by utilizing your network of connections. On the other hand, a person who is not resourceful may struggle to achieve their goals even with large followers they are not able to find creative solutions or make the most of what they have.

Being resourceful is vital for being able to identify opportunities and find creative solutions, regardless of the resources available to you.

Think vigorously about resourcefulness which is a key factor in achieving success in any field.

Takeaway

1. Embrace the unknown and face your fears, for it is in the unknown that we find the greatest growth opportunities.

2. What lies ahead is far less important than what lies within.
